Have you considered…. Provence-Alpes-Cote’Azur?

Britain’s all to brief Indian summer is driving some of us to consider the sunny and glamorous south-east corner of France, the Provence-Alpes-Cote’Azur or PACA.

It’s also down to the fact the market is bottoming out down there as the British, American and Irish buyers are back in the game, according to Tim Clark, our agent there.

“Everyone comes to the Cote D’Azur for a villa with a pool and a view and we are seeing a lot of movement in that €400,000 to €800,000 sector,” he says. “Nice has picked up, yet British buyers still overlook Frejus and San Raphael where they can get a villa for the same price as an apartment in Cannes.”

The Var in Provence is also popular for its stone character properties, with Cotignac a well-deserved hotspot, but also the areas around Draguinon, Bargemon and Aups – gateway to the Verdon area with vineyards, olive groves and homes that offer “incredible value”.
