Combine your love of live music with a tasting of world famous Cognac
Poitou Charentes has many music festivals coming up this summer but the most famous (and certainly the most popular) is the annual “Blues Passions” festival in Cognac.
This year the headline acts include Sir Tom Jones, Sting and Hugh Laurie.
The festival takes place between the 3rd-8th July with the main acts performing in the central park. Other stages are set up around the town which welcomes visitors from all overthe world for this unique event.
Full details of the festival are available at www.bluespassions.com
Most of the performances are free to watch but tickets for the main acts start from €35.99 or why not buy a 6 day pass for €162.50. If you are feeling really helpful you could volunteer to help out for the week – full details are available online.
To make the event truly special you could also combine it with a guided tour of one of the world famous Cognac houses. Hennessy, Remy Martin, Martell and Camus are just four of
the big brands that offer tours and exclusive tastings. If you are coming in a car then you could also take the short drive to the beautiful riverside town of Jarnac on Tuesday 3rd July to take in the opening of the festival and a tour of the Courvoisier chateau.
You can book tickets for both the concerts and the Cognac tours at the Office de Tourisme in the main square.
Happy listening and even happier tasting!
