Here we are again, with the May 2011 Cannes film festival on all next week in Cannes. The city of Cannes prepares to meet and greet artists and professionals form all around the world, with shall we say, love appetite and impatience.
It’s always an exciting event, from the announcement on April 14th of the selection; to the arrivals and mystery surround the greatest film makers, actors and other film artists, the massive return of the professionals, film buffs and a virbrant Film Market. As to the weather, unless our favourite Icelandic volcano acts alone over the skies of Europe again, it should be perfect!
This year, Cannes has installed a little innovation here and there. As a guest, Egyptian film culture, home of great cinema, has signalled to the world their desire for democracy and freedom like Tunisia, which will also be present. A selection for film crews to meet each other .
There are fifty films in the Official selection, dozens of guests, celebrities, arriving every day, hundreds of screenings, thousands of film buffs, well worth a visit..
