It’s showtime again!

As life returns to some sort of normality we are delighted to have attended our first overseas property show since March 2020. Such as the pent-up demand of buyers at A Place in the Sun Showcase in Birmingham, that some people had to be turned away.

Over the space of the weekend – the event was smaller than usual to allow for social distancing and a reduced number of exhibitors from abroad – there were 2,250 visitors, with many of them staying for the whole day instead of just a couple of hours.

The VOX at Birmingham’s NEC complex was a great venue and was packed for much of each day, with standing room only at some of the buying advice seminars.

Leggett participated in these seminars on both days, and we had a stream of people talking to us about finding a property, as well as the opportunities to work as one of our agents in France. Budgets were varied but tended to be a bit higher than before the pandemic, and the interest in the most popular areas of southwest France, but also Brittany and Normandy has not waned.

We were able to answer lots of questions about purchasing and moving after Brexit and also the practical info on tax, tips on finding the right property, and also the great mortgage rates still available in France.
