Amazing turnout at A Place in the Sun Manchester

We saw strong signs that it will be a busy spring market (again) as we met hundreds of buyers to discuss their plans at the three-day property exhibition. The show welcomed 5,526 visitors through the door and defied any assumptions that the market is cooling in 2023.

There was a real mix of people planning to move to France and keen to learn about visas, mortgages, and other practical issues during the seminar programme at The French Village, and plenty of holiday home buyers too. The appetite for northwest France, especially Brittany, Normandy, and the Loire continues to remain very strong, but we noted interest in many parts of southwest France, from the Limousin to Bordeaux, plus Aude.

Many buyers are still looking for country properties, with land and fast broadband – houses in good condition have the edge over those in need of serious renovation. The majority of clients were looking for 3-bedrooms with only cosmetic decoration to undertake. And still a large number of clients wanted to make the move a permanent one to France.
