What can €200k buy you in France?

One of the fantastic things about France is that you could get a property for €200k in pretty much any of its fabulous regions – from ski resorts to beach towns to rural retreats. We’re rather spoiled for choice, so we are going to cherry-pick some of your favourite regions. Of course, it is possible to buy a rural bolt hole in vast swathes of central France for a fraction of that sum, but if you have a slightly higher budget you can really have it all.
If location counts more than size, then you can get a petit apartment on the Cote d’Azur for this sum or in one of the villages behind the coast.

One bedroom apartment in a high quality residence with pool and landscaped gardens.

It’s perfectly possible to get a nice apartment with a balcony in the Old Town of Nice, or a two-bedroom villa with pool close the beaches of the Languedoc, where your budget goes a bit further.

Lovely 2-bed villa with pool, space for sunbathing and gardens.

In the Dordogne, you could get a five-bedroom house with a swimming pool and still have some change; or in Brittany’s Cotes d’Armor a three-bedroom house, with successful three-bedroom gite and a heated pool, for the same price!

Lovely five bedroom family house near the Dordogne river with swimming pool.
Stunning 3-bedroom farmhouse with 3-bed gite.

You can even get a ski-in, ski-out apartment in the Alps or close to a Pyrenees resort, so whatever you want, we are sure that most of our agents can find you something for this budget.
