Property viewings: how do they work in France?

We are delighted to share that once again physical viewings are allowed in France. Virtual tours have been a great success but many of you will prefer a visit in person.

There are certain restrictions. First up, check for the latest updates on whether travel to France is possible – it’s best to check the government’s official website.

So how do they work? All property viewings must be pre-booked, so you will know the time and date of your viewings before setting off.  In France there is a contact tracing App called TousAntiCovid that will generate you a certificate, or you can print it out. When you attend a viewing you will need to wear a mask, use hand-sanitizer and keep a one-metre distance between you, your agent and the property vendor.  Do not shake hands and sanitise your hands again when you leave the property. Make the most of your visit so you won’t need to make a second viewing – take detailed notes,  and photos if you can. Don’t forget that many of our properties have virtual tours, video, floor plans and additional photographs not shown on our website. Our agents are available by phone or video link to give you a virtual viewing and answer any detailed questions you may have.
