Cycle your way through hidden France…
Forget the crowded routes of next month’s famous cycling race, we want to bring to your attention the best unknown cycling roads in France! Try these three for size…
First up is a start in lovely Bordeaux and then 57km of Voie Verte along the ‘Route Roger Lapebie, along a disused railway line. Along the way, you might spot this lovely property – a 3-bedroom apartment with terrace and lovely views.
Another fabulous location to kick off (or peddle off) – La Rochelle, with a cycle across the stunning Pont D’Ile de Re and then enjoy over 100km of dedicated cycle routes that criss-cross this chic summer playground. On the Ile de Ré, this is a five-bedroom property with a stunning swimming pool.
Do we save the best until last? Some might agree, with a 10-day peddle along the wonderful towpaths of the Canal di Midi – part of a ‘coast to coast’ route from Toulouse until Sete. This is a fantastic two-bedroom property, plus gite, in Minervois.
