A taste of Spring? Savour these foodie festivals from now into May

If you are planning a trip to France this spring and you love the foodie events held across the country we’ve included a few ideas about where best to see the nation at its culinary best. Here’s rather a fruity foursome of festivals you might wish to visit…

Down on the balmy Cote d’Azur, Menton’s famous lemon festival is a must-do in March. What’s more, this really is a stunning newly refurbished two-bedroom apartment with sea views from its balcony – and the price might just surprise you.

Head to Brittany for April’s shellfish extravaganza, the Fête de la Coquille Saint-Jacques in Côtes d’Armor, near St. Malo on 20/21 April. You can find a lovely two-bedroom countryside house like this for less than €200k if you head inland for half an hour or so.

May heralds the Fête de la Cerise in Céret, Roussillon, celebrating the cherry harvest with markets, tastings, picking the first fruits of the season, which are sent to the President. This four-bedroom Maison de Maître near Perpignan is also very stately.
