What does a typical day as a Leggett Agent entail?
I usually wake up around 06 a.m. and then slowly start my day with a cup of coffee and a book, or just by watching the sea from my balcony while the world slowly wakes up. I already skim through my emails to see if there is anything important that needs attending that day.
Around 08 a.m., I start my day. I answer emails and look for new properties to list. If I’ve got appointments that day, I take my time to prepare for them. During the afternoon, I go to appointments or I catch up with other work. By the end of the afternoon, my day is usually over, unless I’m signing some paperwork with vendors during the evening.
It’s difficult to say what a typical day as an agent entails because each day is so different! Whether it is going to town and maintaining the relations that I have built with other locals, going to a property to take great photos for the listing or if it’s at home dealing with the administration. A lot of my time is spent driving around my area and meeting people. I absolutely adore the fact that I get to spend so much time outside, enjoying the area where I live. It is so beautiful and I feel lucky that I get to enjoy it as much as I do.
What is your favorite place in the area that you cover? What do you like most about your area?
Oh oh, do I really need to pick only one? How can I possibly choose between the beach of Bonnegrâce in Six-Fours-les-Plages, where there are often lots of surfers in the water, or Sanary-sur-Mer, that has the best market in the whole of France? Or the lovely old villages of La Cadiere d’Azur, Le Castellet, and Evenos, where it seems like time has stood still. Or the green hills of Le Beausset? Or the quaint little port and the amazing beaches in Bandol? It’s almost impossible to choose! I guess if I really had to choose it would be the hills of Le Beausset because there, you just have it all. It is calm, quiet and green and you feel like you are in the middle of nature and yet you are so close to the coast and all the other towns.
What I love most about my area is the diversity. I love that I’m able to walk to the beach and have a swim. Or I can hike through the hills and arrive at the top to be treated by a breathtaking view (I won’t tell you what it is, you’ll have to come and discover this for yourself).
What is the funniest / weirdest request you ever had?
I have to say that all the requests so far have been very normal and nothing jumps out just yet!
What were you doing before you joined Leggett?
Before I joined Leggett, I worked in The Netherlands where I organized meetings and events all throughout the country. After marrying my husband 3 years ago, I moved to France and I worked at a campsite to improve my French before joining Leggett last September.
What is the most unusual house you mandated?
The most unusual house I mandated is a house in Evenos which reminded me a little bit of the wardrobe leading to Narnia. From the cellar, you could go up the stairs and then you would end up in the dressing room. It was a beautiful townhouse right next to the old castle and it just had so much character and odd little features.
What do you like best about your job?
What I like best about my job is the diversity, the flexibility and the people that I meet. I just love seeing how other people live, helping them sell the home that is so important to them and trying to find buyers that will love the property as much as they do. I love that I get to meet people from all over the world and that I get to speak different languages. I get to help people settle here. They know that even though they’re moving to a different country or a different area, they are not alone and there is someone watching out for them!
