The season has changed and it’s time to cosy up. We give you a quick tour of the season’s main French decor trends, so you can relax and cocoon at home in style this winter.
1930s – the art of decoration
A clever combination of rounded and angular geometric patterns, the Art Deco trend focuses on elegance, while at the same time offering luxury and comfort. Achieve this by skilfully blending deep blues with old pink or mustard yellow – and luxuriate in velvet! Plump cuddly seats, and comfy cushions combined with glass or marble-topped coffee tables with geometric legs are perfect. Mirrors and lights framed with copper bring radiant decadent touches to any room.

Like a Boho
Far from sophisticated minimalism, French Bohos love stylised clutter! Comfort is at the heart of an eclectic decor, combining bright colours and natural materials – perfect to boost morale as winter approaches! Natural and green living spaces are also great for winter – a few touches of rattan, indoor plants, woolen blankets or washed linen in a shade of ochre and terra cotta are ideal. Add some floor cushions and baskets in braided straw, and you’ll have the perfect boho living room.
Pressed for time? A new rug changes everything!
If you haven’t time for a refurbishment, then why not buy a statement rug. It’ll change the look of any room and give you a novel cosy winter feel. Soft or short, monochrome or furiously original, it allows you to change the look of a room simply, cheaply and quickly – and you can change it again in the spring time if you want!
